What is libya flag new?

The current flag of Libya was adopted on February 17, 2011, following the overthrow of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. The flag features three horizontal stripes of red, black, and green, with a white crescent and star in the center. The red stripe represents the blood of martyrs, the black stripe represents the dark days of oppression under Gaddafi, and the green stripe represents the country's agricultural wealth. The crescent and star are symbols of Islam, the predominant religion in Libya. The new flag replaced the previous flag, which was a plain green field with no other markings or symbols.
